Sara is a British-Danish architect. She has a BA from the University of Nottingham, and an MA from Central Saint Martins. Sara has long pursued building transformation projects – both throughout her professional and academic work – and enjoys working within the constraints of existing buildings. Before coming to Signal, Sara worked on a number of renovation/retrofit projects in London, including office renovations and turning disused basements and roof terraces into food and beverage outlets.
At SIGNAL, Sara works on various project phases from initial concept design right through to implementation. A lot of her work at SIGNAL is also centered around interior design.
Sara has a strong interest in community-led architectural projects, and spent 3 months working as a designer on a city farm as part of her MA. Whilst there, she designed and built much needed storage solutions for the farm; she also helped facilitate workshops with local school children, where she taught them DIY skills and encouraged them to get involved with her design work on the farm. This experience has made Sara a strong advocate of architecture that is practical, fun, and inclusive of everybody.
